What to Do If Your Child is Arrested
If you are wondering what to do if your child is arrested, call me. I’ve handled cases like this before. Depending on the severity of the crime, it might be something we can handle with just a few court appearances, or it might be something that we have to spend a long time figuring out.
Keep in mind, the juvenile courts are more in tune to try to help out the child than they are to punishment. I’ve handled cases like this in the past: if your child is charged with a crime, please set up an appointment with my office.
What to Do If Your Child is Arrested | Joyriding
In New York, there is no formal joyriding charge. It is a grand theft, it is the theft of an auto. It’s a felony charge. While not globally recognized as being a crime, certainly taking somebody’s car without permission is a crime and is a vigorously prosecuted crime.
If you or somebody you know is facing a charge of theft of an automobile, please allow me to set up a free consultation so that we can discuss your case.

What to Do If Your Child is Arrested | Drinking Underage at a Bar
In New York, if a child is arrested and charged with underage drinking or underage possession of a false identification, we’re talking about some very serious charges, and those charges will be prosecuted by the local prosecutors.
If your child is facing charges like that, I have handled cases like that in the past and I can answer all of your questions. Please give my office a call.
What to Do If Your Child is Arrested | Shoplifting
In New York, when you’re charged with shoplifting, you’re actually charged with a Petit Larceny. It’s a Penal Law violation, it’s a crime, and it will be prosecuted by the prosecutor’s office in whatever county you’re in. In some counties, they very vigorously prosecute those charges. Other prosecutors are more interested in diversion and helping that person so they will not commit that crime again.
Depending on what county you are charged in will depend on the strategy that I employ in defending you. I’ve handled many of these juvenile crime cases through the decades. I’d be more than happy to discuss your case with you.
