NYC DWI Lawyer Discusses the Drunk Driver Program
As an experienced NYC DWI Lawyer, clients will ask me what the drunk driver program entails. In New York, if you have a DWI and it turns out that you are either convicted or you plead guilty, there will be a requirement in most plea bargains where you have to do a series of classes. That is through the Department of Motor Vehicles and it’s called the Drunk Driving Program or the DDP. It is seven consecutive weeks and it’s about two hours each class.
At the end of that requirement, you’ve completed the Drunk Driving Program. The courts will require that you bring a certificate back to the court to prove that you’ve complied with the court’s order that you’ve completed the DDP.
