Manhattan DWI Lawyer Discusses Open Containers
As an experienced Manhattan DWI Lawyer I have seen many occasions where a client of mine has been pulled over with an open container of alcohol in their car. Let’s say you get arrested in Manhattan or anywhere in New York City for a DWI and there is an open container in the car, an open container of alcohol. It’s an indication that you recently consumed alcohol. Now, how do you counter that? Maybe there’s passengers? Maybe it’s something that was emptied out a long time ago and just happened to be in the back seat and just sitting there. While that certainly doesn’t look good to have an open container of old vodka bottle sitting back there, if it is an old bottle, that certainly can be something that could be dealt with in an easier way than an open beer in the center console. It’s an aggravating factor and it must be dealt with head-on.
